Our Clients Problem

Many people are working from home these days. Some have an Office, or Study, in the house while others work from a Studio or Garden Office. Regardless of where they work, most share a similar problem: being too hot in the summer months and/or being too cold in the winter months. It’s an all-too-common problem familiar to us and we’re frequently helping people overcome this problem. Take this example here, of a typical sized Garden Office in the back garden of a house in Liverpool Rd, Islington. The timber construction of most Garden Offices is not well insulated, meaning they invariably suffer from excess heat in summer and excess cold in winter. Timber constructions are charming but temperature control is an ever-present problem!

Details of Air Conditioning Installation

So, to overcome the problem, we chose one of the industries real work-horses, the Panasonic 3.5kW TZ system. This system offers heating and cooling, naturally, but also WiFi control and Nanoex Technology which inhibits viruses, bacteria, odours and also mould and pollen – ideal for those suffering from Hay Fever and Asthma! Installing the indoor unit on the rear wall, we routed the pipework straight out the rear wall, meaning there was no pipework visible inside. Once outside, we routed the pipework around the side of the Garden Office and connected it to the outdoor unit which we had mounted on flexi-feet mounting blocks adjacent to the Office. To maintain a clean and professional appearance, we housed all pipework and cabling inside black PVC trunking which offers a superior finished presentation. Unfortunately, there was insufficient space available at the rear of this Garden Office to site the outdoor unit which is why the unit was located here. It does show, however, the benefit of an obligation-free site survey from one of our industry leading surveyors prior to installation: identifying suitable mounting positions and pipework routes for a/c installations like this is uber critical!
