Our Clients Problem
Our client was building some temporary offices and welfare rooms, and needed ventilation provided to the rooms.. The solution was obvious enough; this type of project requires a MVHR which will provide both Fresh Air and Extract Air but the challenge here was there was no obvious place to position the equipment. Portacabin accommodation doesn’t have any ceiling void to mount equipment within it so our choices were extremely limited.
Details of Ventilation installation
We opted for the Mitsubishi Lossnay which is a MVHR offering both Fresh Air and Extract Air and which is one of the most energy efficient products on the market today. As we had no suitable location to mount the Lossnay within the actual building itself, we had to opt for an external location. For ease of future servicing we chose to locate the Lossnay at ground level and mounted the unit on a BigFoot mounting system. Critically, as Lossnays are not water-proof, we had to install a water-proof enclosure which kept the unit safe and dry but still ensured adequate service access for the future. To complete the project, all external ductwork was insulated to ensure good thermal performance.
